Not really. The Northern Lights can be seen in Lapland from late August to early April. During the summer months they are concealed by the brightness of the midnight sun. Yes, you've read that right, the sun is still up at midnight. At the Arctic Circle, the summer sun shines late into the night before melting out in the horizon, and around the summer solstice it just doesn't set! This is actually an amazing experience, but if it's the aurora borealis you're after, summer may not be the best option.
